Session 10 of the Balanced Body series
The integration finalizes!
In this session, we will be relating and balancing what has been revealed. This is where all the previous sessions come together into wholeness. There is no such thing as perfection; there is only dynamic balance.
In the words of Dr. Rolf: “Proper balance may be thought of as a resting state with the capacity and preparedness to respond appropriately and efficiently to a wide variety of stimuli.”
It is with this in mind that we approach the final session of the series.
Focus
We will be working with the joints and large fascial planes to bring harmony between the horizontal and vertical, the core and sleeve, the being and doing.
Intention for Session 10: Horizontal lines and continuity
Terrain: whole body
Sense everything being connected. You will have a full sense of your body in three dimensions moving in any direction with equal ease. Your body will be more unified and relaxed in gravity allowing for more effortless movement and balance.
Theme: Integration
The theme of this session is INTEGRATION. Integration means being in touch with yourself and your wholeness and completeness. Like a walking waterfall, there will be a fluid strength that emanates from the core and extends outward through the sleeve.
Thoughts to consider in preparation for this session:
Where in your body do you feel integrity?
Where in your life do you feel integrity?
What would it look like to go from pushing and resistance to relaxing and flowing?
Notice if your arms and legs move from your center, like a starfish. Play with/explore the idea that you are a starfish.
We will also work with some movements that you can do at home to feel this sense of dynamic balance through integration and continue the work when you leave.
What to wear
We will be working on the whole body, so bra/bandeau/tank top and underwear/loose-fitting shorts will be best.
