Is Structural Integration for you?

If you’re new to Structural Integration, you’re not alone — most people haven’t encountered this kind of work before. The questions below offer an overview of what this work is, what it isn’t, and what you can expect as you begin.

Structural Integration is a method of helping your body find clearer, more efficient alignment in gravity.
It does not diagnose or treat conditions.
Instead, it works with the relationships in your connective tissue that shape how you stand, move, and inhabit yourself.

The Balanced Body 10-Series is a progressive framework that works through the body layer by layer.
Early sessions create space and ease, middle sessions support deeper organization, and later sessions integrate everything into whole-body movement.

The body learns best through repetition and gradual change.
Ten sessions give your system time to reorganize and adapt.

We begin with a brief conversation and a look at how your structure organizes itself in standing and movement.
The hands-on work is slow, direct, and intentional — done in comfortable clothing, both on and off the table.
I will guide you in gentle movements to help integrate the work.

Sessions are collaborative and unhurried.

Sessions are typically around 60 minutes.
Some may be slightly shorter or longer depending on the goals of that particular stage in the 10-Series.

Some people feel lighter and more organized; others feel subtly tired or aware of new sensations.
It’s all normal.
Your body is adapting and integrating — the experience varies person to person.

The ideal schedule for the series is once per week on the same day and time each week. The series becomes a commitment that your nervous system and immune system can count on while providing enough time in between sessions for the body to appreciate the changes.

The Balanced Body 10-Series is designed to build session by session, creating momentum that deepens the structural changes we’re inviting. Plus, the body and nervous system tend to respond well to rhythm and consistency.
Commiting to the full 10-series and coming at regular intervals helps your system integrate the work more fully, and many people find that this steady cadence supports overall well-being, including aspects of immune function.

You can pause or adjust at any time, but the fullest benefits typically come from completing all ten sessions with as much consistency as life allows.

Note that each session is paid for at the time of service, and the best place to start is simply trying one session to see if the work resonates with you.

Most people, young and old, can participate in Structural Integration, but because I don’t diagnose or treat conditions, it’s important that you consult with a medical provider if you have concerns about safety, injury, or underlying conditions.

The work is always done within your comfort and capacity.

Structural Integration is not appropriate when you have an infection, fever, acute illness, or have had surgery within the last month. Please allow time for recovery before scheduling sessions.

Massage focuses on relaxation or localized areas of tension.
Structural Integration works with whole-body organization in gravity.
It’s a different pace, a different intention, and a different conversation with your structure.

Pain is never the goal; in fact, it can be counterproductive.
Structural Integration works best when your system feels safe enough to respond, not when it’s being overwhelmed.

My intention is to partner with you to find the amount of pressure that is both comfortable and effective — enough to invite release and structural change without triggering resistance. We work together to stay within a range that feels supportive, steady, and respectful of your body’s pace.

Because Structural Integration involves more movement than most massage or bodywork, I recommend clothing that allows ease and comfort. Good options include short or loose-fitting athletic shorts, sports bras, bandeaus, or loose tank tops. Choose the clothing that feels best for you and gives your body freedom to move.
