“There is no such thing in a living body as stillness. There is only balance.” - Ida P. Rolf, Ph.D.
In Session 2, we are still working at the superficial fascial level and will be extending the work we did in Session 1 down to the floor.
If the lower joints are restricted or not functioning optimally, it can force you to find stability and support in other parts of your body, i.e., tight hips, shoulders, neck, lower back. We want to begin the conversation within your body that your base of support starts at your feet and make sure the joints are flexible, responsive, and available to make that happen.
Intention for Session 2: Support the Body
Terrain: feet, ankles, legs, knees, thighs, pelvis
Find a sense of grounding in your body. Your feet will be more fluid and adaptable as they support the vertical dimension in your body.
The theme of this session is BALANCE. Balance in your body, balance in your life.
Thoughts to consider in preparation for this session:
Do you feel like your feet support you in standing?
Do you stand with more weight on the toes or heel of the foot? More one foot than the other? More on the inside or outside of the foot?
Is your life feeling balanced right now?
How do you find balance in your life?
Where would you like more stability in your life? In your body?
As we will be working on feet and legs, make sure that your shorts/underwear are loose around the legs.
If you have any questions, please let me know. I look forward to seeing you!
