“At the center of your being you have the answer.” - Lao Tzu
Session 5 is the natural continuation of the directionality of Session 4. That inner line work leads directly into the center of the body as the conversation continues about how to move with ease from the center.
We will focus on the many layers of the abdominals, the quadriceps, and finally the psoas. The psoas muscle connects the leg to the spine. A functional psoas is a key to organized and efficient movement, but it is located deep to many other structures in the body.
We gently process through the abdominals, layer by layer, to safely reach the psoas and encourage functionality and support.
Intention for Session 5: Activate the Psoas
Terrain: sternum, ribs, diaphragm, abdomen, front of thighs, psoas
Tap into the power that comes from your center. You will get a sense of how a balanced center supports all movement.
The theme of this session is CENTER. The human system is always searching for and trying to maintain homeostasis. To be centered is to live in the immediate and ever-changing balance of all competing forces.
Thoughts to consider in preparation for this session:
What does being centered mean to you?
What emotions come up for you more than others?
How do you center yourself?
We will be working on the middle of the body, so bra/bandeau/tank top and underwear/loose-fitting shorts will be best.
If you have any questions, please let me know. I look forward to seeing you!
Warmly,
Cara
