Session 6 brings awareness to the patterns of holding. The back is a place where we can store “held back” or suppressed emotions. People often carry it in their lower back or they pile the weight of the world on the shoulders. What might it feel like to release this holding pattern?
The opposite of holding is releasing. In this session, we work with the entire back body to release that which needs releasing. As the tension in the back subsides, communication and clarity can improve.
We will focus on the back of the body from the bottoms of the feet to the back of the head and everything in between.
Intention for Session 6: Release your Back
Terrain: ankle, calves, hamstrings, gluteals, deep rotators, sacrum, spine
Feel a sense of length in the back. You will experience new movement in all aspects of the spine and the continuation of movements originating from the center.
The theme of this session is RELEASE. It is natural to hold on to old hurts, old thoughts, and old patterns. Session 6 is an invitation to shed this heavy coat and emerge with a fresh sense of yourself, free to move without being weighed down.

How does holding back show up in your life? Your body? Your relationships? Your confidence?
We will be working on the back of the body, so bra/bandeau/tank top and underwear/loose-fitting shorts will be best.
