“We have to establish a balance between the “being” system and the “doing” system.” - Ida P. Rolf, Ph.D.
The integration begins!
In sessions 1-7 we worked with the body to OPEN, BALANCE, EXPAND, SOFTEN, CENTER, RELEASE, AND FLOAT. Now it is time to bring all of that work together into one integrated whole.
Sessions 8 and 9 work together in a yin-yang relationship of Being and Doing. In session 8, we work with the sense of being. In session 9, we work with the sense of doing.
Session 8 also begins to solidify the discussion of the subtle body and the core. Movements and support will be encouraged through the core, that centered sense of being that can move you with the least amount of effort necessary.
We will address any rotations that have been revealed, revisit anything in the lower body that needs attention and encourage ease and wholeness through large fascial plane movements.
Intention for Session 8: Stability and Adaptability
Terrain: lower girdle, feet, legs, hips, pelvis
Experience de-rotation and integration of the pelvis. You will feel a new sense of stability and adaptability in your body.
The theme of this session is BEING. Being is the background to all doing.
Thoughts to consider in preparation for this session:
Do you feel you have a good balance between the being state and the doing state?
What does it look like when you are just being? What does it feel like?
Imagine yourself in full “beingness” and describe what it looks like?
We will be working on the lower body so underwear/loose-fitting shorts will be best.
If you have any questions, please let me know. I look forward to seeing you!
Warmly,
Cara
