“You find a different person after reorganizing the head in space.” - Ida P. Rolf, Ph.D.
Session 7 marks the last session before the integrative sessions. We have made room and balance through the body so the head and neck can feel supported. This session invites a more connected relationship between the head and body.
We will work gently through the many layers of muscle of the head and neck as well as the face and cranium. There is some intraoral work for the health and balance of the jaw and surrounding cranial bones, as well as some intranasal work for the balance of the sinuses and the sphenoid bone upon which the eyes sit.
Intention for Session 7: Free your Neck
Terrain: chest, shoulders, neck, jaw, face, cranium
Find adaptability in your head and neck. You will feel a fluid relationship between your head, neck, and spine.
The theme of this session is FLOAT. Float on through hard times. Allow thoughts to float past you and not come to rest as weights inside you. The head should feel at ease on the top of the spine, neither forward nor backward, up or down, but looking at the horizon line. Your feet ground you while your head lifts to the sky and it is upon this line that we live in a balanced body.
Thoughts to consider in preparation for this session:
What does balance between your head and body look like for you?
Do you feel a deep connection between your head and your body?
Does your head feel light or heavy?
Does your neck feel free or restricted?
How do your mouth and jaw feel?
We will be working at the head so a comfortable outfit with a loose neckline or bra/bandeau/tank top will be best.
If you have any questions, please let me know. I look forward to seeing you!
Warmly,
Cara
